When you begin to create a new Cultural Data Profile Survey, or edit a previously completed CDP from our old system, you will be asked to complete a few Survey Customization questions.

Organization Info
- Organization Type: Example: 501(c)3 nonprofit organization or something else
- Fiscal Year End: the end date of the fiscal year financial information you will be entering
- Federal EIN: Your federal identification number
- Months in Survey: number of months you will be representing (usually 12, buts sometimes more or less if your fiscal year changed)
- Exemption Date: date the organization received tax exemption
Discipline
- NTEE Classification: The alphanumeric code the IRS uses to classify your tax exempt organization
- NISP Discipline: The National Standard for Arts Information Exchange Project identifier as to what activities your organization's primary mission includes
- NISP Specialty: An additional descriptor for a NISP (not always required)
- NISP Institution Type: The National Standard for Arts Information Exchange Project identifier as to what your organization is
Total Expenses
- Total expenses under $50,000: Organizations with expenses below 50K can opt to complete a shorter Cultural Data Profile Survey
Financial Information Part 1
- Was your organization audited or reviewed for the fiscal year you are reporting on
- Did your organization have restricted contributed revenue for the fiscal year you are reporting on
- Did your organization have restricted earned revenue for the fiscal year you are reporting on
Financial Information Part 2
- Did your organization have non-operating revenues for the fiscal year you are reporting on
- Did your organization have non-operating expenses for the fiscal year you are reporting on
Please note that the Survey Customization process is responsive and you may not see all of the above questions.
