Where can I find how many viewers I had on a digital platform? ​​​​​

Answer

Most digital platforms will have an analytics page or place where the number of views/viewers has been tracked. There is a difference between Digital Programming/Broadcasting and Social Media and Web sections in the CDP even though the analytics may be tracked in the same place on the specific platform. Below are resources for popular Digital Media sites.   



Zoom:  

You can access your Zoom analytics by signing in to the Zoom web portal and selecting Dashboard. The Dashboard tab allows you to view statistics on the overall usage of your Zoom account. The data on your Dashboard updates daily at 12:00 GMT.

Facebook: 

You can access data up to two years of data using Page Insights.  

To see Page Insights: 

  1. Click Insights at the top of your Page. If you don't see Insights, click More. 

  1. Click sections on the left for more information. Source 


Twitter: 

Twitter lets you access data about Tweet activity by using the Tweet Activity Dashboard. 

To get started, log in to analytics.twitter.com with your Twitter username and password to turn analytics on for your account. 

To access your Tweet activity: 

  • On a desktop or laptop computer, visit analytics.twitter.com and click on Tweets. 

  • In the Twitter app for iOS or Android, tap the analytics icon visible in your Tweets. Make sure you have installed the latest version of Twitter for iPhone, iPad, or Twitter for Android. Source 


YouTube: 

YouTube offers data on your videos through their analytics.  

Get to YouTube Analytics 

You can go directly to youtube.com/analytics or follow the steps below. 

  1. Sign in to YouTube and click your account icon > Creator Studio. 

  1. In the left menu, select Analytics. 

  1. Choose the report you want to view. Source 


Instagram: 

In order to view your Instagram Insights you need to convert your profile to a business account. To view insights: 

  1. Go to your profile.

  1. Tap Insights. 

  1. Select specific posts, stories or promotions you'd like to view insights on. You can also learn more about your audience. Source 

Vimeo: 

All Vimeo members have access to an analytics dashboard, which gives an overview of plays, likes, and comments. Source 

Vimeo also offers four different plans that you can pay for the get more advanced analytics related to your Vimeo account. Source 


Snapchat: 

Go to the ‘Insights’ tab to learn more about your audience and how they engage with your content. 

In 'Recent,' each Story tile shows the reach (unique viewers) and number of Snaps in that Story. Tap a Story tile to see the views, reach, screenshots, swipe-ups, and interactions per Snaps. Also, take a look at the ‘28 Day Summary’ to see your latest trends.

TikTok:  

To access your analytics on TikTok you will need to have a Pro Account. To set up your Pro Account you will need to log in to TikTok and open the Privacy and Settings tab from your profile page. From there select “Manage My Account” and then select “Switch to Pro Account”. This will give you a set of steps to change your account to a Pro Account. Once you have activated your Pro Account you will have an Analytics button under your account options where you can access your account’s analytic information.

LinkedIn: 

You can view analytics for your shared posts and published articles on LinkedIn.  

To locate post or article analytics: 

  1. Click the Me icon at the top of your LinkedIn homepage. 

  1. Under MANAGE, click Posts & Activity. 

  1. Locate the specific post or article you'd like more details on. 

  1. Click the Analytics icon below your post or article. Source 

 

Tumblr: 

You can access analytics for your organization’s Tumblr page by using Google Analytics. You will need to add your Google Analytics ID to your blog’s theme. Many themes allow you to paste a Google Analytics ID in the Appearance section of the Customize menu.  

If your theme doesn’t have such a field, follow the instructions below. 

  • Copy your Google Analytics tracking code to your computer’s clipboard. 

  • Open your Dashboard in a new window. 

  • Access the Customize menu for the blog you’d like to track. 

  • Click “Edit HTML” and paste the code just before </head>. 

  • Click "Save."  

Note that if your Google Analytics status reads “Tracking code not verified,” this means Google’s system has not processed your data yet.  Source

How to Add an Account: 

You need edit permission to use this feature. 

To create an account: 

  1. Sign in to your Analytics Account

  1. Click Admin

  1. In the ACCOUNT column, select +Create Account from the menu. 

  1. Click Web site or Mobile app. 

  1. Under Setting up your Account: 

  • Enter an Account Name. 
    Use a specific and descriptive name, so you can easily tell what this account is for when you see the name in the Account list. 

  • Accept the default to add the account to your current organization. Clear the check box to create the account outside the organization. 

  1. Under Setting up your property, enter the Website or App Name. 

If you plan on tracking more than one property in this account, use a specific and descriptive name. For apps, include the edition or version number. This will help you keep your app properties organized in your account. 

  1. (Web only) Enter the Website URL. 

You cannot create a property if your URL isn’t formatted correctly.

  1. Select an Industry Category. 

  1. Select the Reporting Time Zone. 

This is used as the day boundary for your reports, regardless of where the data originates.

  1. Under the Data Sharing Settings section, select the settings you want. Learn more about the data sharing settings

  1. Click Get Tracking ID. Source 

 

There are two ways to access Analytics through a standalone account at http://www.google.com/analytics, or through your linked Google Ads account. 

  • You can sign in to your Analytics account from http://www.google.com/analytics. Click Sign in (at top right), and select Analytics. If you are already signed in to Google (e.g. you are signed in to your Gmail account), you'll be taken directly to the Analytics user interface. Otherwise, you will be prompted to enter your Google account (e.g. Gmail account) and password. Once you have signed in to Analytics, you can open the account search at the top of any Analytics page to see the accounts, properties, and views to which you have access. 

  • If you've linked Analytics to a Google Ads account, you can access your Analytics views and reports at any time by clicking Tools > Measurement in your Google Ads account. Use the menu on the tab to select Analytics. Source  

 

You can access data from your website using Google Analytics by creating a View. 

  1. Sign in to Google Analytics.

  1. Click Admin, and navigate to the account and property to which you want to add the view

  1. In the VIEW column, click the menu, then click +Create View. 

  1. Select either Website or Mobile App. What's the difference? 

  1. Enter a Name. 
    Use a specific and descriptive name, so you can easily tell what data is in this view when you see the name in a list. 

  1. Select the Reporting Time Zone. 
    If your Analytics account is linked to a Google Ads account, the time zone is automatically set to your Google Ads preference, and you won’t see this option.

  1. (For User ID enabled Properties only) Click the toggle ON to create a User ID view. For a reporting view, leave the toggle set to OFF. 

  1. Click Create View. 

After you create a view, you can come back to the Admin page and edit the view settingsSource
